1. WHAT COMPANY ARE YOU FROM AND WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A DAY?
Our team represents Gofore, one of the best workplaces in Finland. Gofore is an IT consulting company that produces digitization services from end to end. After filtering out all the consulting jargon, what remains is a warm-hearted community that likes to tinker together even outside of working hours.
Gofore has "Glubs" to get you started. In Slack, search for glub to find, for example, #boardgames-glub, #climbing-glub, #wine-glub, #sauna-glub, #beer-glub and, of course, #videogames, which is important to us gamers< /p>
The stereotype of a software developer playing video games hits us like an AK in the forehead. There is also room for Agile guys who nimbly mix up the plans so that no one keeps up with the tactics
2. ARE THERE MANY TEAMS FROM THE COMPANY PARTICIPATING IN THE CHIN LEAGUE?
We have a really active group of players, but Kanaliiga is currently represented in DOTA and CSGO.
Kanaliiga CS Season 5 is our first season. Assembling the team was easy and when the success in the first season spread to the ears of the players, the interest grew even more. With these prospects, we will start the next season with two teams.
The Dota gang also participated for the first time in the 3rd Dota season of Kanaliiga. In the case of Dota, the players had to be persuaded a bit, because, as is typical for Dota, everyone thought they were too bad to play. The participation paid off, because Gofore's team ended up winning the whole season in style, going from the lower group of kavutes to the final, taking it 3-0.
This gave confidence to the participants and the whole team is already excitedly waiting for the next season.
3. WHAT KIND OF TEAM DO YOU HAVE? DO YOU KEEP YOUR NERVE AND FOLLOW TACTICS?
On the CS side, the team has 9 players. In terms of experience, the group is divided from beginners with a few hundred hours to veterans with thousands of hours.
At the beginning of the season, our warranty book was almost empty. Many times the familiar ENCE tactic was used, "Let's go, I'm going to have a little fun". As the season progressed, the tactics have developed as well as the players and the teamwork has improved significantly.
Players with the fewest playing hours have sometimes succeeded in incredible performances. A small meme was born from Eksotik's great performance (less than 200 game hours) in Inferno. We laughed together that "Let's put the Eksotik in the pit and let the others go to B" when the bomb site seemed to be completely locked.
The hottest game was definitely against Moment Digital. Moment Digital challenged Gofore on Linkedin to bet on the outcome of the game. Mikael Nylund (Gofore TJ) responded to the challenge by saying, "Now it's really difficult to know anything about the odds, but usually one Gofore person answers ten others“, so we had a place on the screen.
The challenge gained a lot of visibility and inspired representatives of both companies to bet. The money invested in betting was agreed to be donated to charity for families with children in distress due to the corona
The link to the stream was shared on Linkedin and on company chat channels. A record number of spectators were present.
In the end, we were able to live up to the expectations set for us and took home the victory after a tight game.
On the Dota side, the team developed wildly during the first season. The skill range is also big on that side – we have players from Archon to Divine. The tactics were formed quickly after the first loss, when it was decided that the lanes must be won, after which the middle game is in control and the carry gets proper space to secure the victory in the late game. This principle was not deviated from in the final season, and in picks, Medusas were left in the pool and the focus was on successful battles.
4. HOW DID THE GAMES GO AND WHAT IS YOUR GOAL FOR THE NEXT SEASON?
On the CS side, the games have gone very well. At the time of writing, 12 games played have resulted in 10 wins. We have made the game go well and hopefully we will fight in the playoffs.
In the next season, we want to be at least as successful, but hopefully with the strength of two teams.
On the Dota side, the success was also amazing, but it is not yet certain what kind of lineup will continue into the next season. The goal is to defend the winning title.
The Dota team hopes that there will be tougher opponents for the next season, so that we can properly show how the good Dota is played.
5. OTHER HEALTH FOR CHICKEN LEAGUES
It's great that the organizers manage to use their own free time to run the league voluntarily. This is what the statement "From love to species" means
