The tension builds when the regular season and the playoffs are over and the finals are looming on the horizon. Thank you already at this stage to everyone who participated, I hope everyone had good games. At least in my opinion, the season has been rewarding and it has been a pleasure to watch the sabers shake. Many things have gone well, but in many things there is still a lot to improve, but at least we have tried to learn from them and a few changes are coming for the next season, which will be played this spring anyway! More about the changes here: https://kanaliiga.fi/cs-palautekyselyn-purku-ja-possibiset-mutoksetlle-s2 / Registration for S2 opens in a couple of days, so stay tuned!
The four best placed in the regular season progressed to the playoffs. Now that the playoffs have been played, the finalists for each league level are now clear! In the chicken league, the prizes have already been thought out for the winners, but silver is not a shame either, because the medal is already secured in the finals.
Here are our handsome medals:
The 1st and 2nd ranked teams of each league level claim the right to use this great medal wherever they can (on their websites, publications, profiles, etc.). In addition to the medal, the winners will also receive a special treat, more on this when the winners are known ;)
In the following, the results of the playoffs and the initials of the final matches:
MKT
Granlund continued his usual convincing performance by taking the regular season four, Innofactor, cleanly in two maps. The battle between the battle pair Helsinki Graphics - Eficode was tight as predicted, as the maps went 19-17, 11-16 and 16-10.
The MKT final is scheduled to be played on April 18. at 8 p.m. Granlund starts the match as early favorites, because they haven't lost a single map in the entire season. However, as we know, even the pre-favorite cape also causes pressure, but will Granlund's boys' cap last or will Helsinki Graphics be able to surprise?
There have even been talks of organizing a LAN final at the premises of Helsinki Graphics, however (at least as far as I know) we have not received confirmation of that. Of course, we'll provide commentary on the finals, you can find them on the #striimilinkit jug on Discord.
SemiPro
In the SemiPro playoffs, there was perhaps a minor surprise, when the fourth F9 of the regular season defeated the regular season winner ITaido 2-1. Of course, someone could also have predicted this, because in the regular season, ITaito suffered its only loss to F9 with a clear score of 16-5. This means that ITaito's journey to the playoffs ends and F9 continues to the finals. Certego took Codemate outright in two maps, and is thus the final pair of F9.
The teams have not yet confirmed the date of the final at the time of writing. When it becomes known, we will try to agree on a commentary for it and publish it on our #striimilinkit channel.
Pro
Pro-level playoffs were therefore clearer than other league levels. In the Sandvik-Pool match, Sandvik won directly in two maps. For some of the Poolia players, the cartridge broke at the latest in the second map in Nuke, where we saw, for example, several frustrated car-shotgun rushes in a row. Sandvik kept a cool head and took his team to the final with a great performance.
The battle of the operators had been hyped up in advance, because Elisa, who otherwise won the regular season in a sovereign fashion, suffered its only regular season loss against Telia. However, Telia didn't get to surprise a second time, because Elisa led directly in two maps. Thus, the final will be played between Sandvik and Elisa. The time of the final has not yet been confirmed, it is worth following the #striimilinkit channel and our Twitter @kanaliiga, where we will certainly also inform you about it.
